Super Simple Flexible Copper Tubing

 
This tutorial is NOT to be scripted or made into a "Quick Guide" unless it is for your own personal use. 
 

To do this tutorial you will need a working knowledge of PSP. If you are new to PSP, or have a problem doing this tutorial, you can find me at Raven's PSP forum, be happy to help you out.

 

 


Start with an image 800 X 800 pixels. Transparent background.
Flood Fill with Color #692A25. 
Make a Rectangular Selection approximately in the center of your image.
Flood Fill with Black.

 

 


Go Selections>Save to Alpha Channel. Click OK twice.
Go to Selections>Select None.
Click on the Retouch Tool on your Tool bar.
Set it to Push with these settings.

 

 


Hold down the Shift Key and click on the starting and ending points for your tubing.
Go diagonally from end to end over the black center. 

 

 


Go to Selection>Load from Alpha Channel. Click OK.
You should see your black rectangle selected.

Go to Image>Crop to Selection.
You'll see a sad looking line.

 

 

Go to Effects>Artistic Effects>Black Pencil.
Use these settings.

 

 

Go to Effects>Artistic Effects>Enamel.
Use these settings. Color #FFBF5B.

 

 

Use your Magic Wand to select the the area on one side of your tubing.
Hold down the Shift Key and select the other side.

 

 


Go to Selections>Invert.
Go to Selections>Modify>Expand. Set it to 1 pixel.
Go to Selections>Modify>Feather. Set it to 2 pixels.
Go to Selections>Invert.
Go to Edit>Clear.

Go to Selections>Select None.
To add a little bend to the tubing, go to Effects>Geometric Effects>Twirl.
Try a small setting, maybe 15.
Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow.
These are the settings I used.
