Light Play
Lighted Text

| This tutorial is
NOT to be scripted or made into a "Quick Guide" unless it is
for your own personal use.
To do this tutorial you will need a working knowledge of
PSP. If you are new to PSP, or have a problem doing this tutorial, you
can find me at Raven's
PSP forum, be happy to help you out.
You also need this zip file for the
lights. Unzip it into your Presets Folder.
Open a new image 500 X 300, Transparent Background.
Set the Foreground Color to Black.
Set the Style to Null.
Set the Background Color to #808080.
Set the Style to Foreground-Background Gradient.
Linear-Angle 0-Repeats 0
Flood Fill your image with the gradient.
Use the same gradient for your Vector text
Go to Objects>Align>Center in Canvas.
Go to Layers>Convert to Raster.
Do not Merge Layers.
Go to Effects>Texture Effects>Polished Stone.
Use these settings. Color #404040
Go Effects>Illumination Effects>Lights.
You should see a preset called Lighted Text.
Make sure Layer 2 is your active layer and click OK.
If you want the text brighter, make a rectangular selection around the
text before adding the light effect. It's much easier to change the area
for the lights than it is to adjust all the lights.
Experiment with different colors for the lights, or try some of the
other Light presets.
Add a drop shadow and you're done.
For a little different look, start with text color #404040, do not use a
gradient.
Use the same setting for Polished Stone and the Lights.
