Tips and Tutorials for PSP 7


Fancy Gradient Frames


Dark Gold Frame


Soft Gold Frame


Silver Frame 


Black Enamel Frame 

Simple Gradient Frame

 
This tutorial is NOT to be scripted or made into a "Quick Guide" unless it is for your own personal use. 
 

To do this tutorial you will need a working knowledge of PSP. If you are new to PSP, or have a problem doing this tutorial, you can find me at Raven's PSP forum, be happy to help you out.

The Soft Gold Frame can be done in PSP 6.

You also need to download my Bars gradient.

 


Choose an image you would like to frame.
Duplicate it, Shift>D. Work with the copy.


 

On your Color Palette, set your background color to Black. 
Go to Image>Add Borders. 
Set it to 5.

On your Color Palette, set your background color to #B39055.
Go to Image>Add Borders. 
Set it to 25.

Add a New Layer.
Fill it with the Bars Gradient.
Rectangular Gradient set to 1.

 

For Dark Gold

Set your Foreground Color to White.
Go to Effects>Artistic Effects>Hot Wax Coating.
Repeat 3 times.

For Soft Gold

Set your Foreground Color to White.
Go to Effects>Artistic Effects>Hot Wax Coating.
Just one coat.
Go to Effects>Edge>Enhance More.

For Dark Gold

Go to Effects>Texture Effects> Rough Leather. 
Use the setting, Custom 2

 

 

 

 

 

For Soft Gold      

Go to Effects>Texture Effects> Rough Leather. 
Use the setting. Custom 2

 

For PSP 6
1. Colors-Negative Image.
2. Image-Effects-Chrome. 
    Set both all the way up: 
    Flaws: 8, Brightness 100.
3. Colors-Adjust-Brightness/Contrast:
    Brightness: 0, Contrast 47
For Dark Gold

On your Layer Palette, change the Layer Blend Mode to Luminance.

For Soft Gold

On your Layer Palette, change the Layer Blend Mode to Overlay.

 

 

For Both Dark and Soft Gold

To clear the center go to Selections>Select All. 
Then Selections>Modify>Contract.
Contract by 25.
Go to Edit>Clear.

That's it, quick and easy  frame, and one you can do a lot of experimenting with to get different looks.
For a Silver Frame

For a Black Enamel Frame

Use one coat of Hot Wax

Edge>Enhance More

Chrome, Use Original Color
Flaws 4, Brightness 50

Rough Leather, Custom 2

Layer Blend Normal

Use one coat of Hot Wax

Edge>Enhance More

Enamel, Custom 1

Layer Blend Normal
