Glass Orb

| This tutorial is
NOT to be scripted or made into a "Quick Guide" unless it is
for your own personal use.

To do this tutorial you will need a working knowledge
of PSP. If you are new to PSP, or have a problem doing this tutorial,
you can find me at Raven's
PSP forum, be happy to help you out.

my Pity gradient.

Step 1
Open a new image, 400 X 400, Transparent
background.
Flood Fill
with the Pity gradient.
Use these settings.

Step 2
Go to Effects>Geometric Effects>Pixelate.
Use these settings.
|
|
|
Step 3
Go to Effects>Sharpen>Sharpen More.
|
|
|
|
Step 4
Go to Effects>Texture Effects>Mosaic-Antique.
Use these settings.

Step 5
Go to Effects>Texture Effects>Mosaic-Glass.
Use these Settings.

Step 6
Go to Effects>Edge>Find Horizontal Edges.

Step 7
Go to Effects>Geometric Effects>Warp.
Use these Settings.

Repeat the Warp effect. You should see this. Open your layer palette, click on your
layer and drag it into an empty space on your work area.
You'll now have two identical images.
Minimize the second one.

Step 8
Click on your original image to activate it.
Go to Edit>Undo Warp.

Step 9
Go to Layers>Duplicate, then Image>Rotate.
Make sure the box for All Layers is NOT checked.
Open your layer palette and set the Layer Blend Mode to Multiply
on the top layer.

Step 10
Copy and paste your first orb over the first two layers.
Set the Layer Blend Mode to Screen on Layer 2.

Step 11
Go to Layers>Duplicate, then Image>Mirror.
Lower the Opacity on Layer 2, and Copy of Layer 2.

Step 12
To put something in the glass orb, click on Copy of Layer 1, then paste
your object as a new layer. Set the Layer Blend Mode to Lighten, lower
the Opacity.
If you object is a dark color, try setting the Layer Blend Mode to
Exclusion.
Note: Duplicate your image, Shift
D, before merging and save as a PSP
file. You may
want to make changes later.

Step 13
If you want to get rid of the background grid, go to
Layers>Merge>Merge Visible.
Select your orb. Set the feather to 1
.

Step 14
Go Selections>Invert, and then Edit>Clear.
Go to Selections> Select None.
